Step-by-step guide to get MAG Box streaming in under 5 minutes
Got a MAG box? Then you have a purpose-built IPTV machine — Infomir designed these for one job and they do it brilliantly. The MAG box setup is: paste the Stalker portal URL we send, register your MAC address, the box handles the rest. No apps to install, no sideloading. What You'll Need
Before we start, ensure you have:
- Any Infomir MAG box — MAG 254, 322, 349, 420, 424, 520, or 524
- HDMI cable into the TV, plus Ethernet from the router (Wi-Fi adapter on models that support it)
- Your portal URL from us — and you need to send us your MAG MAC address first so we can register it
- About 10 minutes
Step-by-Step Instructions
Plug it in, find your MAC address
HDMI from the MAG box into the TV. Ethernet from the router into the MAG box. Power on. Once it boots, hit the Menu button, go to Settings, System Settings, About — write down the MAC address (starts with 00:1A:79). Send it to us on WhatsApp so we can register your account against the box.
Wait for us to register your MAC
Once we confirm your MAC is linked to your subscription, you can move on. Usually takes a couple of minutes during working hours. We message back when it is done.
Open System Settings, Servers, Portals
Hit Menu on the remote. Navigate to Settings, System Settings, Servers, Portals. Pick Portal 1.
Paste the portal URL we send
In Portal Name, type anything you like ('My IPTV'). In Portal URL, paste the Stalker portal address from our welcome message. Hit Save.
Restart the portal
Hit Exit. The MAG box reboots into your portal. First load takes 30 to 60 seconds while it pulls down the channel list — that is normal.
Pick a channel — you are streaming
Coloured buttons on the MAG remote handle EPG, favourites and settings. Hit OK to play. Add your most-watched channels to Favourites — far faster than scrolling 45,000+ entries.
How to Optimize for Zero Buffering
Most guides stop at installation. We want you watching with zero stutter. Here is how to dial in your setup:
- Increase Buffer Size
If your streaming app allows it (Settings > General > Buffer Size), change it from "Small/Normal" to "Large" or "5 Seconds". This prevents micro-stutters during live matches by pre-loading more of the video data.
- Use Hardware Decoding (HW+)
Always ensure the video player settings are set to Hardware (HW) Decoder rather than Software (SW). This offloads the heavy video rendering directly to the device's graphics chip for crystal clear 4K.

What MAG box models work with IPTV?
Every Infomir MAG model — MAG 254, 322, 349, 420, 424, 520, and 524. MAG 420 and above handle 4K. MAG 254 is the old workhorse — fine for SD and most HD but it struggles with 4K. If you are buying new, get a 520 or 524 for futureproofing.
How do I find my MAG box MAC address?
Settings, System Settings, About. The MAC address is on that screen — starts with 00:1A:79 on every Infomir box. Send it to us on WhatsApp before you try to connect, otherwise the portal returns 'MAC not found' every time.
What is a Stalker portal MAG box?
Stalker is the portal protocol every MAG box uses. Instead of an app, the box loads a web-style interface from a portal URL. Your subscription server hosts that portal and authenticates by your registered MAC address. No apps, no logins, no sideloading — paste the URL, watch.
Do I need to install any apps on a MAG box?
No. The Stalker portal is built in. You enter the portal URL, the MAC handles authentication, the channel list loads. There is no app store on a MAG box because it does not need one — the whole interface is the portal. That is the whole appeal.

Why does my MAG box keep losing the portal settings?
Firmware updates wipe portal config — Infomir does this on most updates. Re-enter the URL in Settings, System Settings, Servers, Portals, Portal 1, save. Takes 30 seconds. If it keeps recurring weekly, someone is hitting OK + Setup on the remote and triggering a soft reset by accident.
