How to Set Up IPTV on Sony Smart TV

Launch the app from your home screen. Select 'Login with Xtream Codes API' (or 'Add Playlist > Xtream Codes' in TiviMate). Enter the Server URL, Username, and Password from your subscription email. Tap 'Connect' or 'Add User'.

Tip: Using the Google TV remote keyboard can be slow. Download the Google TV app on your phone and use your phone keyboard to type credentials — it is much faster.

Wait for channels and EPG to sync

The app will download your full channel list, VOD library, and electronic programme guide. This takes 20 to 60 seconds depending on your connection. Do not press back or close the app while it syncs.

Customise your Google TV home screen

After setup, you can add the IPTV app to your favourites row on the Google TV home screen for one-click access. Long-press the app icon on the home screen and select 'Move' to place it where you want.

Go to Sony Settings > Network > Network Status and check your internet connection. If you are connected but Play Store still will not load, clear its cache: Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Clear Cache. Restart the TV and try again.

If someone casts to the TV while you are watching IPTV, the cast session takes priority. To avoid this, go to Settings > Apps > Chromecast Built-in and disable 'Let others control your cast media' to prevent accidental interruptions.

Sony calls this feature 'BRAVIA Sync'. If other HDMI devices keep triggering the TV to switch away from IPTV, go to Settings > Channels & Inputs > External Inputs > BRAVIA Sync Settings and turn off 'Auto Change Input' or disable BRAVIA Sync entirely.
